PAL direct flights from MNL to NY start October

Starting October 28, four-star Philippine Airlines (PAL) will have direct flights from Manila to John F. Kennedy Airport, New York.

PAL President Jaime Bautista stated that they are “no longer just a Manila-centric airline.” He added, “Our new aircraft and our new hubs are winning combination that will help expand our market reach both domestically and worldwide.”

Other direct flights that will be available from Manila are to New Delhi and Mumbai in India, and Sapporo in Japan.

This is good news for the Philippines as potential investors and businessmen from these countries will now find it easier to travel to the country. This is part of the airlines’ quest to raise its newly appointed 4-star status to 5-stars. Aside from this, additional 15 planes are also coming in this year, which costs about $2 billion. PAL is targeting to carry 16.5 million passengers this year.
