PH economic growth a benchmark in upcoming ASEAN meeting
Due to its impressive economic growth, Filipino companies have been invited by a Japanese business federation in Osaka next month.
The delegation visited this March, and stated that it would like to “benchmark with the growth” of the Philippines in an effort not to get left behind in the economic race. For the ASEAN meeting, KANKEIREN invited speakers from different industries in the country, including tourism and small and medium enterprises (SME).
“They want to know how the Philippines can help them grow in Osaka. That is why they came here to invite us because they said ‘we are amazed at the growth of the Philippines’,” said Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) President Alegria Sibal Limjoco, after meeting with top officials of Osaka-based firm, Kansai Economic Federation (KANKERIEN).
The ASEAN meeting is scheduled on April 5 in Osaka, Japan.
