Philippine Start-ups are Getting a Boost with Google and Ideaspace Partnership
The Republic Act No. 11337, or the Innovative Startup Act was signed last July to provide benefits and programs to strengthen, promote, and develop the Philippine startup ecosystem.
Any person or registered entity in the Philippines which aims to develop an innovative product, process, or business model is qualified by the law for incentives. In a statement earlier this month, Google announces that it is partnering with IdeaSpace, a start-up accelerator in the country, in the same interest to provide start-ups in the country the support in growth and development.
IdeaSpace has already provided support to 91 startups in the Philippines. Google Launchpad Accelerator aims to give its partners access to Google engineers, intensive mentoring from 20+ teams, equity-free support, PR training, and global media opportunities among others. This partnership will give the opportunity for IdeaSpace to access Google’s global network and relevant insights, best practices, and studies from the company’s startup programs to further aid the country’s startup ecosystem.
